Gamble with the Fisher Price
A streamer made a real gamepad out of the Fisher Price Controller with which you can play Elden Ring.
What is the worst controller in your opinion? We asked us in the editorial team and two of us were mentioned above all: the ultra-chunky gamepad of the very first Xbox and yet actually the Joy-Cons of the Nintendo Switch, which in turn are very small. We feel cramps with our big paws when we play with the things for too long. And the NES controller was still mentioned as a "honorable mention", but you could say: At that time they didn't know better at the time.
So, what do you tell you when we tell you that all the examples mentioned are nothing compared to the controller that the streamer and YouTuber Rudeism recently made fit for gaming? He managed to modify the learning controller from Fisher-Price in such a way that he is suitable as a real gamepad. Actually, this is a learning toy for toddlers who are supposed to get to know numbers, colors and shapes. However, the manufacturer thought it was a great idea to give the thing the shape of a typical controller. Rudeism probably thought: "Hmmm, challenge accepted!" After all, he likes to make "bizarre controller", as it says on his Twitter profile.
On May 1st he released a video in which the fully modified device shows in action. And which current game could be better suited to play it with a very absurd gamepad than Elden Ring?
How, you say that doesn't work at all because the Fisher Price Controller only has an analog stick? Yes, right, but you can change the yellow switch so that the function of the one stick is converted from the character to the camera control. Sounds totally intuitive and comfortable, right? Well... oh, and we must not forget that the thing is constantly playing sounds. Who doesn't want to hear a beeping voice again and again, who calls things like "One!" While trying not to be processed into stained cups by Margit, Godrick, Malenia or what boss?
