Steam deck: Unboxing the PC console

The development of the Steam Deck is on the target straight: on its official website Valve has published five photos on which you can see the final packaging design of the handheld PC for the first time. As soon as the first buyers get their devices in February 2022, they will hold this packaging in their hands. Currently, the almost finished Steam deck models are prepared for shipping to further developer studios. However, these are devkits that do not yet exactly meet the final product that the end customers receive next year.

Do not throw, do not let wet, and please do not edit with the magnet: the romantically collapsed box (symbol from left) is printed with warnings. Steam Deck: This is how the packaging looks from Source: Valve

On the device is a warning: first connect the power grid, Dan switch on! The inside of the box is printed with multilingual texts and underlines the handheld thought of the mobile device: from garden, car and ship to the moon, the texts should show you the places you can use your steam deck in the future.

Valve has recently postponed the Steam Deck, the planned release in December 2021 is thus off the table. Especially urgent pre-ordered should now receive their first devices from February 2022. If you have not ordered within the first hours, you must expect to get the PC console only in the second quarter 2022 or even later. In the carrier bag your Steam Deck (hopefully) is well protected. Source: Valve Of course, the question remains exciting, whether and how well your PC games will eventually run on the steam deck. For this purpose, Valve performs its own tests and divides the games in four varieties — which has it on himself, we have put together here for you. All other information about Steam Deck can be found on our topic page.
