Hybrid Play Helmet Review EPOS H3

EPOS Provides quality helmets for years now, but I'm almost sure that I just discovered their best helmet to this day. And I would not know what to expect with a hybrid game helmet — a helmet claiming to provide a shiny sound with the Bluetooth and wired options — all built into the same accessory. Surely, part of the quality should be sacrificed, right? From what I hear, it's not the case at all. Certainly, it is a high-end helmet — you will pay the big price for this product.

Yet suppose you are looking for an audio solution capable of handling all your game devices, the Xbox Series X to the Nintendo Switch via the PC and PlayStation 5. In this case you will absolutely want to consider The Hybrid Helmet EPOS H₃.

The box is a simple, flair, flair, opening, opening to reveal a black and white headset with a pair of supplied cords, a USB cable and a 3.55 mm cable. Earphones are mainly white, with black accents, black headbands and black cuffs. The simple two-tone appearance has a unique look, and I really like it. It should be noted that there is also a completely black version of the helmet — I imagine that its quality is identical, but if EPOS wants to send me one to test it, I will not say no.

When you take the H₃ Hybrid for the first time, you can immediately feel how strong the construction is. Ear outlines have a more oval form than the traditional circle, and when I looked at them for the first time, I got Semi, thinking they would not adapt properly. I happily wrong. They just adapt to my ears — a little tight — like a hug of a friend too zealous, but for most people, they will be perfect. And once they are locked up on your ears, the world becomes silent. Kind, a scary silence. The earpiece has a dial that adjusts the volume. The left earpiece has the microphone pole that can be tilted up or removed completely — they even included a black clip to cover the microphone hole. Beyond, you have a Bluetooth synchronization button and the power button. By lighting the device, you will be welcomed by a voice informing you of the remaining battery life. Exceptional!

Epos H3 Hybrid Gaming Headset Review, BETTER MPG? The first test was via Bluetooth on my iPhone. He has synchronized without problem and worked as planned. I listened to music and TikTok videos, and it sounded well. But it was only the first test — without really repelling the limits at this point. The next step was the Nintendo Switch since the console was just updated to allow Bluetooth helmets. Once again, it has synchronized without problem and provided me the best 3D sound that I could get from a headset on this device. I played a little in Fortnite, and he managed the directional audio as a champion. The sound was clear with just what needed bass. I tried some other games, including Super Mario 3D All-Stars, and again, the sound was just great.

Then I tried the wired connection via USB on my PC. Once again, I started strong, but this time I played multiplayer with my son to test the vocal chat. The vocal chat was perfect, in both directions. I could clearly hear every word that my son said as if he was standing right next to me, without sacrificing the sound of the game. I asked him how I looked, and he said it was clear, without echo or problem. The final test consisted of listening to Dolby Atmos spatial audio albums via Apple Music — and my enthusiasm, the emblematic album Falling Into you from Celine Dion, who had just been reissued in spatial audio. It bluffed me. The new mix puts his voice in the foreground like never before, and it gave me chills. Yeah, I'm a gamer who likes to listen to Celine Dion, so what? I walked in other spatial audio tracks, Ms. Jackson, Another One Bites The Dust of Queen, BTS Butter and the results were more or less the same: this H₃ Hybrid helmet offers An unprecedented sound.

Like most helmets nowadays, an application is available to change various settings. In this case, it is the continuation of EPOS games. It should be noted that after downloading the software, I had to update the software to detect the H₃ Hybrid. In addition, there was also an update of the firmware for the helmet itself. Unfortunately, beyond the updating of the headset firmware, I do not really see the advantage of the Gaming Suite app. This allowed me to test the audio of the microphone, which was an interesting feature. However, when I tried to test the 2.0 or 7.1 audio, no sound has been played. Let's hope that future updates will solve the problems.

It is difficult to find anything negative to say about the H₃ Hybrid EPOS. It is a Swiss knife of a helmet, offering Bluetooth, USB and 3.55 mm connection options. Furthermore, it works on Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, PC, and I imagine it will also work on old consoles. The audio is excellent, offering a rich sound experience. The bass felt just. Listen to audio spatial music via Apple Music was a surrealist experience. The helmet is comfortable, even if I find that the ear protectors tend to heat my ears a little after about an hour of use. I imagine that players with smaller ears will not have the same problem. If you are looking for an all-in-one audio solution, and you are willing to spend extra money, then the EPOS H₃ Hybrid is your best choice.
