Dread Hunger offers a new character in the update at Feast of Friends

Digital Manufacturers returns to the kind of social deception with another new update of Dread Hunger. This scary game requires eight players to survive in the Arctic, in the 1850s. The update A Feast of Friends adds the new cook character to the game as well as other features.

Dread Hunger is quite similar to games like Among US, where players have to work together to succeed. Unfortunately for everyone, two of these players are malefic slaves working against everyone. It would be already serious enough, but when the game takes place during an old Arctic expedition, things can go fast south.

The new update of Dread Hunger starts with a short trailer that presents what players can expect from cook. It seems to be an older man with a red and happy face with a friendly laugh, but some plans imply that it could be a facade. He manipulates raw meat in the introductory video, but we do not know where the meat comes from.

Hunting to feed, light fires to stay warm and repel predators will be key mechanisms in Dread Hunger. It is already difficult enough to survive in the Canadian Arctic nowadays, let alone almost 200 years ago. The presence of the cook could also facilitate the diet of the explorers with contaminated food, although it can also be easy to make it scapegoat.

The new Dread Hunger update also includes an upgrade from the game's vocal chat system using EOS technology. It now offers a sound of better quality to allow players to better distinguish the inflections of the voice. This could make the difference between being caught in a lie and getting away from it.

Developers also added new poker emoticons designed to allow bluffing players, showing their despair facing the cards that have been distributed to them and usually have fun during the poker game before the trip.
