Call of Duty should no longer appear every year
There are some things that are firmly anchored in the year plan. Among other things, the fans can look forward to a new title of the shooter series Call of Duty every year. But that is supposed to be all before, because the annual release rhythm could be history in a closer future.
No more annual Call of Duty anymore?
That says at least the Twitter user and leader Ralphsvalve. This recently reported to a tweet, alleged that Activision Blizzard is currently allegedly supposed to be on Call of Duty to deviate from annual release rhythm in the future.
However, he did not call any source for this, Ralphsvalve was not particularly apparent in the past with correct forecasts and leaks.
Longer development time = better Call of Duty?
Incidentally, this annual release rhythm has since 2005 with the launch of Call of Duty 2. Since a total of three studios ( Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games and Trey arch ) work alternately on the brand, was the publication of new episodes In the annual rhythm so far no problem. Nevertheless, a expansion of the release calendar may have some advantages.
The teams would have more time for development of a new Call of Duty and would not be constantly under the pressure of a solid release plan. At least theoretically, this could affect the form of an increased quality of the individual episodes. In addition, the focus of Activision Blizzard in the future could be even stronger on the very successful Battle-Royale offshoot Call of Duty War zone.
Activision Blizzard does not come out of the headlines
In addition, the company is currently being able to get something inside anyway, as far as planning security is concerned. Massive scandals around sexual abuse and bullying ensured that there had already been numerous leaders of different studios.
Thousands of employees signed petitions and laid down their work to protest against unpalatable states. In the meantime, Activision-Blizzard-CEO Robert Kick is now in the center of the scandal. He is said to know about the disturbing transactions in his company and the rape accused employees protected. Kick now thinks about his resignation. Of course, the presumption of innocence applies.
